Juniper programme

The Juniper Programme offers a series of structured small group experiences for primary and secondary school pupils. It is focused on developing awareness, understanding and experience of Peace starting with inner peace, peace with others and peace with nature.

Pupils are offered practical techniques to help them deal with challenges in their lives in and out of school, and opportunities to celebrate what is going well because of them.

Based around the skills of relaxation, emotional literacy and the use of affirmation, the 6 week programme helps students to develop

  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Calm and inner strength
  • Relaxation and focusing their minds
  • Inner peace and happiness
  • Improved rest and sleep patterns
  • Self-reliance and creative relationships
  • Improved educational attainment
  • Concentration and behaviour in the classroom
  • Exploration into what is important to them
  • Relationships with family and friends

Initially designed for primary pupils, working with a whole class in small groups, the programme has been very successfully adapted to work with selected pupils at secondary. It is of particular benefit to those who are disaffected, disruptive, or under achieving due to lack of concentration or confidence.
