Children and young people experience stress and benefit greatly from learning coping mechanisms, developing resilience and building positive self esteem.
Peace Foundation Network have been working with children offering these techniques in schools since 1990.
Children are given time to process what is going on for them and tools to improve how they feel. They build trust in small groups to share feelings with peers in a safe, supported environment. Facilitators help children to become more aware of their bodily sensations such as shallow breathing, tense bodies and their mind chatter. We incorporate the following techniques into our workshops:
We also offer Yoga and Peer Massage (Taken from the Massage in Schools Programme).
These skills assist children throught their growing years and into adulthood. They are all proven to be effective in reducing stress.
