Massage in Schools Association (MISA) Peer Massage

This internationally recognised programme has been successfully introduced into many primary schools in Sheffield.

Benefits for the children include

  • decreased aggression
  • increased concentration
  • a safe and trusting atmosphere
  • the opportunity to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to touch

Children that benefit from massage will also have improved relationships with peers, parents, brothers and sisters, as well as with their teachers

Benefits for the school include

  • school becomes calmer and friendlier
  • exam results improve
  • helps reduce bullying

The Peace Foundation Network hosts regular MISA two day training courses in Sheffield
This course is for any staff working with children up to 12 years and will enable them to train others in their school.

Alternatively PFN offers

  • an introductory twilight training for staff
  • work with individual classes
  • workshops for parents
